Privacy Policy
Summary
The iPhone and Android apps, the சொல்லாடல் (Solladal) game, and the word puzzles collect nothing. They have no accounts, no user logins, no analytics, no advertising SDKs, and no third-party servers. The iPhone and Android apps run entirely on your device and work offline, with the full word list built in. On the website (solladal.app), the game and the word puzzles load their pages and word data from solladal.app only, and nothing you type or do in them is ever transmitted, tracked, or shared. The optional Free Homework web portal (/freehomework/) stores only the temporary lesson and group progress information described below and deletes it automatically after 8 days.
What the App Stores
- Game Statistics: Your win streaks, games played count, win percentages, and guess distribution histograms are stored locally on your device (via the browser/OS secure local sandbox storage) so your progress is remembered across game sessions.
- Current Game State: The active puzzle state and letter placements are stored locally on your device to prevent losing your progress if you switch apps.
- Puzzle Progress (website only): Your results for each puzzle of the day (number of mistakes and time taken) are stored locally in your browser for up to 60 days, so the puzzles page can show which daily puzzles you have finished.
For the iPhone and Android apps, the game, and the word puzzles, this data never leaves your device and is never sent to any external server.
What the App Does NOT Do
- No personal data collection: No names, email addresses, phone numbers, contacts, or location data are required or collected by the apps, the game, or the word puzzles.
- No device identifiers: No advertising IDs, IDFA, Android Advertising ID, or fingerprinting.
- No tracking or analytics: No Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, or third-party telemetry (on the website's Free Homework pages, Cloudflare Turnstile runs a bot check on lesson creation and login).
- No advertising: Zero banner ads, interstitial ads, or tracking cookies.
- No accounts or passwords: No user registration or permanent accounts.
Free Homework (இலவச வீட்டுப்பாடம் — Website Only)
Note: Solladal and the word puzzles do not require or collect anything. Free Homework (/freehomework/) collects only the basic information needed to create and open a homework lesson (organization, teacher, lesson and group names, and group progress). For privacy, you can use made-up names; please don't enter children's names. It is deleted automatically after 8 days. Cloudflare Turnstile checks each Free Homework creation and login for bots.
- Who can view a lesson: Anyone who has the 4-character Homework ID and the matching 4-character Creator PIN (teacher view and progress report) or 4-character Student Group PIN (that group's lesson).
- No personal information from students: Student groups open their assigned lesson using a 4-character Homework ID and a 4-character Group PIN and solve the 22 Tamil words; students never enter names, email addresses, or free-form personal text.
- Automatic 8-day deletion & earlier removal: Every homework lesson and all associated group progress records expire and are permanently deleted from Cloudflare storage 8 days (192 hours) after creation. If a teacher or parent wishes to have a homework lesson removed earlier, please contact us via https://www.deetech.org/contact with the 4-character Homework ID.
Children's Privacy (COPPA & Family Policy Compliance)
Because the iPhone and Android apps, the game, and the word puzzles collect no personal data from anyone, they collect none from children under 13. On the website's Free Homework portal, teachers and parents are instructed to use generic group labels (such as "Group 1"–"Group 20") or made-up names and not to enter children's personal names, and all homework records are deleted automatically after 8 days. The app is compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), Apple App Store Kids Category guidelines, and the Google Play Families Policy.
Your Control Over Your Data
All game and daily puzzle data is local to your device. You can reset your statistics at any time from the in-app settings/stats menu, and uninstalling the app permanently erases all locally saved data. On the website, clearing your browser's site data for solladal.app erases locally saved game, puzzle, and homework progress, and server-stored Free Homework lessons are automatically erased after 8 days.
